Fatal Krukenberg Tumor which Follows Adenocarcinoma in Situ of Gallbladder : A rare case

Abstract
The Krukenberg tumors are metastatic cancers in the ovary and are relatively uncommon, accounting for only about 3-5% of ovarian tumor. The majority of Krukenberg tumors are originating in the gastrointestinal tract especially from gastric carcinoma. The gallbladder is a rare source of these metastases. We describe a case of Krukenberg tumor which was developed two years after the laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The original pathology of gallbladder was adenocarcinoma in situ and consistents with the ovarian histology that is obtained two years later during the debulldng surgery. To our knowledge, this is the first case of Krukenberg tumor which is metastasized from adenocarcinoma in situ.
